An interesting ceremony took Thursday. 11th inst, at "Stanislaus" Ben-digo, the residence of Mrs. Stanistreet. when Miss Emily (Merle) Stanistreet. daughter of the late Mr. John Stanistreet, was wedded to Mr. Ernest Freeman Greenwood, dentist, of Collins-street, Melbourne. eldest son of Mr. John Greenwood, of Auburn, by the Very Rev. Dean MacCullagh. assisted by the Rev. Mr. Hughesdon The bride was given away by hcr brother. Mr. H. Stanistreet. The drawing-room,in which the happy function was performed, waa tastefully decorated with autumn leaves, while a beautiful wedding
bell was suspended from a floral archway.
The bride was gowned in ivory matelasse silk, trimmed with handsome silk appliqué goffered chiffon frills, edged with tiny ruch-ing, chiffon sash, handsome veil, the gift of her uncle, Dr. Stanistreet. of Weymouth, England, and coronet of orange blossom. She carried a lovely shower bouquet, the gift of the bridegroom. The bridesmaid. Miss Verna Genardini (niece of the bride) wore a pretty frock of soft white silk. with trimmings of goffered chiffon, chiffon sash, white Napoleon hat, trimmed with silk rosettes. She carried an empire stick, mount-ed with red carnations and maiden-hair ferns, and wore a gold curb chain bangle, both be-ing gifts from the bridegroom. At the con-clusion of the ceremony the "Wedding March" was played by Miss Nell. The wed-ding breakfast was served in a marquee, prettily decorated. and the usual toasts were honored. The happy couple left amid showers of rose leaves and confetti by the evening train, en route to Ballarat, where the honeymoon is being spent. As the train steamed away, many fog signals were ex-ploded as a parting salute. The bride's travelling dress was brown chiffon velvet, creme cloth revers and lace vest hat en suite. Mrs. Stanistreet entertained a num-ber of young people in the evening at "Stanislaus", were a delightful time was spent. The bride was the recipient of many handsome
      presents.
