    • Words of Wisdom sent by Mary Stephenson
to her daughter Violet Anne Jane Turner

We have careful thoughts for the stranger
and smiles for the sometimes guest.
But oft for our own the bitter tone.
Though we love our own the best.

      M Stephenson
      Pakenham.

      From "Our Own"
A poem by Margaret Elizabeth Sangster (1838-1912)
